VC RISING STAR | Chloe Chua, 11 – Menuhin, Zhuhai, & Postacchini International Violin Competition Prizes

11-year-old violinist Chloe Chua from Singapore is quickly building an international reputation as an emerging young concert artist of outstanding potential.

A student of Yin Ke at the Singapore Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts School Of Young Talents, Chloe is a former major prize winner at the Zhuhai International Mozart Violin Competition and the Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competition for Young Musicians – and in April of this year was awarded Joint-1st prize in the Junior Division of the 2018 Menuhin Competition, in Geneva.

Eleven-year-old Singaporean violinist Chloe Chua, who won the first prize in the junior division of the Menuhin Competition last Friday, told The Straits Times via e-mail that she was "surprised" by her win. She said: "Although I enjoyed myself on the stage and felt that I have done my best, I was still very surprised and excited when I heard that I was awarded first prize, due to the high standard of performance given by so many other contestants."

Singapore Young Violinist Chloe Chua Enthral Saudi Audience

Since the opening of its doors to global talent, people in Saudi Arabia have been enjoying electrifying performances of various world-class musicians and singers.

The Saudi authorities are leaving no stone unturned to promote local talent and to make the Kingdom part of the global cultural revolution.

On Saturday, the General Cultural Authority organized yet another unforgettable concert at the King Fahad Cultural Center, which saw the world’s youngest violinist, Chloe Chua from Singapore perform to a spellbound audience. The 11-year-old talented violinist has been a student at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts School of Young Talents (SYT) strings section since the age of four.
